DO YOU HAVE A MEDICALLY DETERMINABLE IMPAIRMENT (MDI)?
An MDI can be either physical or mental impairment resulting from anatomical, physiological, or psychological abnormality. You can prove an MDI by providing:
- Medically acceptable clinical laboratory or diagnostic techniques;
- A diagnosis from an acceptable medical source such as a physician, psychologist, and many other types of licensed medical practitioners.
MUST BE A SEVERE IMPAIRMENT
If you do have an impairment, it must cause more than minimal limitations on your ability to perform basic work activities, again, for either a physical, mental or combined (physical/mental) impairment .
